This wonderful Christmas of 2024, the Renacer en Amor Foundation wraps up the year with an extensive but deeply fulfilling journey. Together with our beloved friends and brothers from the ALPHA PHI ALPHA fraternity, we hosted a series of memorable events to share toys, food, and joy with the most vulnerable children in our city and beyond.
Touching Hearts in Cartagena and Beyond
This year, our work took us to iconic corners of Cartagena, such as Palenque, Tierra Bomba, and the Acualina building, where we served children from various local foundations. Of course, we could not forget our cherished community of Henequén, where the headquarters of our Community Dining Hall became a hub of endless smiles and hearts filled with gratitude. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, we brought hope to those who need it most.
The Strength of the ALPHA PHI ALPHA Fraternity
Founded in 1906, the ALPHA PHI ALPHA fraternity is a group of committed volunteers worldwide, whose mission is to work together to generate a positive and lasting impact. In Colombia, thanks to the inspiring efforts of Alix, the local founder, and the collaboration of ARA Travel and Black Travel.co, we managed to raise significant funds that made these events possible.
This movement was not limited to Cartagena; it extended its impact to cities like Barranquilla, Bogotá, and Medellín, as well as countries like Panama, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and the United States. In total, more than 2,989 children were benefited, including approximately 1,000 children internationally. Donations exceeded $18,000, an achievement made possible by the generosity and dedication of every volunteer and donor.
Special Acknowledgments
We want to highlight the effort and commitment of key individuals in this mission:
María José Morales, who led activities in Palenque with the support of her travel agency, Perla Tour.
Pedro Salazar, along with the Amigos del Mar Foundation, who made an unforgettable event in Tierra Bomba possible.
Jaime Oviedo, our tireless coordinator in Henequén, who ensured every detail at the Community Dining Hall was a success.
Miguel Rodríguez, Dominican Republic Teacher of children and youth
Looking Ahead
We are profoundly grateful to God for every volunteer, donor, and contribution received. Thanks to their support, we not only achieved our goals but also laid the foundation for a 2025 filled with new challenges and opportunities. Our goal is to impact the lives of at least 3,000 children next year, and we know that, with faith, clear strategies, and willing hearts, we will achieve this dream.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. We will move forward with renewed energy and a vision to be a light and hope for those who need it most. May this Christmas remind us all of the transformative power of love and solidarity!
